Burgers burgers burgers: Red Robin

Welp, we decided to critique a 'classic' today...mostly because we were craving burgers. Which neither of us got.... odd how that happens.

Here's what is yummy:
Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich
Bruschetta Chicken Sandwich
Crispy Chicken Salad
Fry Sauce

Branch out. Try one of these yummy sandwiches in place of your usual burger! We were surprised at how delicious the honey mustard poppy seed dressing was on the salad... oh my goodness. We even dipped our poorly seasoned fries in it...

It was nice to eat something semi-healthy after gorging on fries as appetizers. They're bottomless, which is probably not the best idea if we want to go out in public in bathing suits this summer.

All gone! 30 seconds after receiving them.

Their onion rings are also delicious! Which we got complimentary because of our HORRIBLE and slow service. Don't worry, normally the staff is very fun, but you might need to go on a weekend for that. Maybe they just schedule bad workers on week days so they piss off less people? We're not really sure.

Tubs had the bruschetta sandwich, which had nice flavor and would've tasted 10x better if it wasn't ...wet... that's gross ya'll.

We'd rather have $10 in our stomach right now instead of this sandwich. It wasn't worth the money.

Overall:
Price: Everything is around $10... and it is occasionally worth it. Just bring fries home. Num num

Service: On a scale of 1-10... it gets about a 3.9 (and that .9 comes just from the onion rings)

Food: Minus some soggy buns and unseasoned fries... it was pretty standard burger restaurant quality (aka mediocre)

Maybe we're being a little harsh today, but hey, you can't win 'em all Red Robin. We still like your theme song though.

Red Robin..... yum..

Our Favorite Granola

On a quest to become more healthy, we decided to make granola this week. This recipe is a favorite of Momma Chubs, and ohhhh is it yummy.

Here's what you'll need:

liquid ingredients:
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. sesame oil
1 c. raw honey
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 c. organic peanut butter

Mix all the dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Make sure to really mix it up well. Pour all the wet ingredients into a saucepan and heat until it boils. Remove from heat and pour onto dry mixture. Once everything is thoroughly combined, pour the granola onto a jelly roll pan and spread it out in a thin layer.

Bake at 220 degrees for 2 hours. Let cool. Granola can be stored for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.

We like ours with milk or fresh fruit and yogurt.

Local Hot Spot: Guru's

If you live in Provo, Utah then you'll know what Guru's is. Why? Because they're known for these delicious beauties:

They have seriously the BEST sweet potato fries on this planet. We're a little obsessed (two plates worth...). But what we're here to do is tell you what else is worth trying at this local gem.

Do try:
Cilantro-lime anything (quesadilla, salad, pasta)
omg omg omg... seriously.

Tacos
we'll admit, we might only like these because they have cilantro-lime dressing

Huckleberry Float
very unique spin on a classic treat

You can live without:
Maui Wowie Chicken Wrap
didn't live up to it's description, it was pretty average

Thai Peanut Steak Pita
they barely give you any meat and it is quite pricey

Teriyaki Rice Bowl
honestly, they just make other things better

Let us just show you how amazing their Taos Tortilla salad is...

Not only is it pretty, but it's tasty as well :)

Our overall rating on Guru's:

Price: most things are around $10, but the fries are fairly priced
Atmosphere: eclectic and fun, you'll also see us there doing regular karaoke on Saturday nights!
Taste: if you get the right thing it's awesome and worth the money, but beware of trying new menu items
Service: the employees seem a little bored so they hovered a lot, but hey... who's complaining about two free refills?
